The
only national park in Tanzania and East Africa with beaches and overlooking the
Indian Ocean. It is the only reserve where its beaches meet the natural
vegetation of the dry land.
The
presence of the Saadan National Park is a result of the Saadan reservoir, the
rabbit ranch and the Northern part of the rabbit in line with the Zaraninge
National Forest reserve. This park is located between Tanga and the Coast
Region.

ESTABLISHMENT:
It
was established in 2005. Since the 1960s, this Saadani area has been one of the
wildlife reserve areas.
ITS AREA:
The size of the Saadani National Park is the size of an area of 1,178 square kilometers. The dry land covers an area of 1,148 square kilometers and 30 square kilometers is the hindi seawater.
ACCESS TO THE PARK;
Saadan National Park is located about 50 km from the Zanzibari Islands and takes about 3 hours by boat and as it is about 50 minutes by boat. It is also about 45 km from the historic city of Bagamoyo (40 minutes) and Dar es Salaam is 100 km away.
GEOGRAPHICAL NATURAL CREATIONS:
The coastal plains, the small hills, the spectacular mountain range that protects the zaraningent forest to the southwest.
The North Side of Rabbit has a lovely and breathtaking scenery. To the south is the Valley of My river.
WEATHER CONDITION OF THE PARK
It ranges from 0 to 350 from the sea level.
MAJOR TOURIST ATTRACTION FEATURES:
Beaches and Seaside, turtle with egg nests on the ground in the reef area. The river also contains a variety of wildlife and birds, mangroves as well as estuaries.
