EGG CHICKENS - PART ONE (LAYER POULTRY FARMING - PART ONE)

poultry

Egg poultry is a modern poultry breed, which is for eating only and not hatched, because it is not fertilized (Not-fertile) by the male (Rooster). These egg chickens are the only type of chickens that need to be raised from infants to adults. These chickens start laying eggs at 18 to 19 weeks (41/2 to 5 months). They will continue to hatch eggs until they reach 72 to 78 weeks (18 months 20 hrs). If you want to produce chicks for getting egg chickens, be sure to check the characteristics of chickens and cock before assembling them to get chicks' eggs. There are various types of poultry breeding communities, and they are found all over the world.

TYPES OF LAYER BREEDS
Egg hens are divided into two major groups based on the color of the eggs. The following is an analysis of these two groups;
1. White-hatching chickens (White Egg laying Hens)
These are small-breed chicken breeds, and they eat small meals as well as lay eggs with small white eggs. The following are the different breeds of chickens that are kept by many people;
2. Brown Egg Laying Hens
These are highly hereditary poultry eggs, and they eat a lot of food when combined with chickens hatching white eggs. They hatch larger eggs than other egg chickens, and their eggs also grow in brown (Brown) shell.

LAYER HEN SELECTION
Before choosing the breed of chickens you want to raise, make sure you have some important information about the behavior of the chickens, including the high level of laying eggs. The following are the characteristics of chickens suitable for egg production;
For commercial poultry breeding, be sure to select the chickens with the highest number of eggs.
Buy healthy chicks, from competent breeders and adhere to all the best startup procedures.
KEEPING CHICKS
Before bringing the chicks to your home make sure you make the following preparations;
Make sure you have a special brood brood (Brooder)
Make sure you have extra head lamps or bulbs that use electricity or charcoal stove to heat the chicks.
Make sure you have prepared floor mats such as timber, rice pads etc. for giving them heat
An area of 1 square meter (1m2) is enough for 20 chicks up to 4 weeks old
Control the temperature of the brood or brood brood (up to 35 ° C for one day chicks and 24 - 27 ° C chicks for 1 week old chicks).

To find out if your temperature is right for your chicks or not, consider the following scenario;
* If you see chicks gathered together around a source of heat it means that there is very little heat.
* If you see chicks sitting away from a heat source, it means there is a lot of heat.
* If you see chicks scattered all over the place, it means that the heat is good for them.
Reduce the temperature as the chicks continue to grow.

IMPORTANT
The first week after hatching, many chicks will not want to drink this water because of the ease of transporting them from one place to another. So you have to put enough water in their designated area (Brooder), and you have to teach them to drink water. Mix their drinking water with Glucose (5% Glucose) to give it a quick boost. Also give them any type of Multivitamin and mix it with their drinking water, this Multivitamin is very helpful for chickens when they are transported long distances, reduces fatigue in chicks and dehydration and also helps keep chicks back to their normal state.
